► Generate, Identify and Evaluate New Product and Business Concepts
New
product/service concepts and business opportunities will be generated using
both internal and external inputs. KJ & Co. will work with diverse
members of your team, gather customer input through qualitative research
methods and explore other available information sources (e.g., customer
support information, input from channel and strategic partners, industry
analysts, etc.). New product concepts may include completely new
applications of existing technology, line extensions, new target markets for
current products and new sales channels. Once a wide array of concepts
is generated, we will establish clear criteria for evaluating and ranking
these concepts, based on both organizational and market success factors.
Draft business models will be created for each concept that passes this
initial screen. The models will be used to assess potential
profitability of each product concept and are a tool for exploring alternate
financial scenarios. Business models include preliminary volume
forecasts, pricing, cost of goods sold, gross margin, and direct operating
expenses.
